Over the course of the year, I teach lessons that expose my students to a variety of different experiences that mirror what real scientists do. We engineer vehicles that are powered by rubber band energy to learn about motion and explore ecosystems by collecting data about organisms in our schoolyard.
After 12 years of teaching in Florida’s public school system, Brian Tupper’s principal let him know he was considered a “non-fiction reading teacher”, rather than a World Cultures and Geography teacher.
