Learn more about SAMR Remember the good old days of inappropriate use? The teacher would just take away the student's privilege of using a computer and give them paper instead. Those were the days when many educators using computers were just in the first stage of SAMR: Substitution. Technology served as a substitute and provided no functional change.

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Incorporated (a TVA retiree organization), announced awards today of $600,000 to educators in the Tennessee Valley. STEM classroom grants funded by the two organizations will allow teachers and other educators to build science labs, create prototyping lessons, and much more.

Make Beliefs Comix is a excellent site that educators around the world are using for digital storytelling, project based learning, reinforcing vocabulary, and more. Recently, they launched their "Give Me Words" feature which lets students supply words to their talking heads. This is great for adding dialogue to a character and giving them a "voice" letting students experiment w/ language making it ideal for Vocabulary and ELL.
