Why the Dire State of the Early Learning Workforce Is ‘Alarming and Not Surprising’

ED Surge

The state of early care and education today is, in a word, unsustainable. Thats what a recent survey of 10,000 early childhood educators found, and its what providers continue to share anecdotally. March 31st is World Backup Day

Ask a Tech Teacher

World Backup DayMarch 31st Every Year March 31st is called World Backup Day. At least once a year, I remind you to backup your data files to an external drive (like a flash drive). This is one that isnt connected to your local computer so cant be compromised if you get a virus. Cloud drives are good, but once a year, do the entire collection of data files to what is called an air gap driveone separated from any internet connection.

Teaching The Writing of Secure Code

Computer Science Teacher

One of the great problems of teaching computer science is that there is a limited amount of time to teach and an unlimited amount of things that can be taught. There is very little degree of agreement of what must be taught. Teachers do the best they can but there is a good amount of variation on what gets taught. One thing that seems to always (or close to always) get left out is writing safe and secure code.
